1.) Live in Japan in a real way? There is no way to live anywhere in a "real way", just your own way.
2.) I think that mastering the language is silly. I have lived in america my entire life and still have not mastered the language. I do not know the entire dictionary and I am still grammatically incorrect at times...I think I did it just there. And nobuyuki is correct, there are too many subcultures in Japan..don't even try haha.
3. Treat them the way u want to be treated. Master concept

I've been in Japan about 6 years, and have never experienced culture shock here. I can't speak Japanese and don't really think too much about cultural differences.
-
I think the language comes first. If you know the language well enough, I think the culture will come naturally.
-
@bobbyjudo and no you will never be japanse no more than a black person being white. the goal should be to enjoy differernt culture and respect them.
-
@bobbyjudo dude that piece of bread you ate is sold everywhere, it originates in china, but all through all asia has them too. in the filipeans its called shupoa.

But, continuing my comment...If I ever make it to that point where I live in Japan. I would be okay with that. I always get super excited over other languages and accents, so I can relate to how they probably feel when they see a foreigner speaking Japanese. It might get annoying to ALWAYS get that, even after living there for years..but if you can understand it, it should be bearable, I think.
As long as they aren't MEAN to me..and make me feel like they don't think I belong there..I'd be okay

I live in America, but it is a dream of mine to someday live in Japan. I'm working very hard to learn the language and culture as much as I can. Anyway..
I don't think Japanese people will ever see you as a Japanese person. Because, you aren't one. It's kind of sad, I suppose..because in America, our country is basically just..people from everywhere! And we hardly think twice about foreigners. In fact, we wouldn't even know if someone is foreign for sure in most cases.

Instead of feeling sorry for yourself why not take pictures of some of the military installations etc?? In the next war , this kind of info will save thousands of lives. The asian is not to be trusted.

@soccermomization "The asian?" Oh man, you're in trouble. There's actually more than just one of them....
There are TONS. I'll send you pictures.

@bobbyjudo wow, you are really morose and narcissistic.
love to know your race. probably polish or some other subhuman type who thinks he is white. sorry, but not everyone buys into all this liberal crap. stay in your own country.

@soccermomization I actually discuss my ethnic background in one of my videos. One of my less morose ones. See if you can find it!
Please send me your home address so I can start mailing you those pictures. When you win the next war, some of the military installations look like you might be able to use them as concentration camps for all of us "subhuman types."

This no different on how it feels to be Black in America... My ancestors have been here as long as whites but my ethnic group still gets treated as outsiders. I have no sympathy for you find a way to get use to it.

I've given the same response to other, similar comments, but, yeah, I'm aware that other groups feel the same way in other countries. Does that mean it's okay? Does that mean it doesn't suck to deal with?
It's not gonna change, and I do have to find a way to deal with it. One of the ways I deal with it is by talking to people who have similar experiences.
Being bitter, and lacking the ability to sympathize or empathize doesn't seem like a good way to deal with it.
