Those who REALLY know about road races are those who RUNS the road races. For 2 times, I have waited for the chasers, only to react at the moment of almost been passed. The results were excellent: for the 2 times, I saved energy to left the tired chasers behind.

De Lima was saving energy for the last kilometers. He is a very fast finisher: have you all seen his victory at the Tokyo Marathon? I think you don't know so much about the marathon history...

An external factor changed the event ?
Yeah in your dreams , 'cos it didn't absolutely , maybe it accelerated a little but Baldini at that point had already won effectively the race with still 7 kms left .
And only Brazilians ( of course they support Da Lima ) or those not Brazilians childishly blind , envious and not very informed tell the bizarre nonsensical joke of DaLima 1st at finish line.

You think very possible a Da Lima
reaction ?? Well then you really have no idea not only of marathon but also of any agonistic sports competition .
Those who have enough knowledge & competence about marathon and can make fine judgements gave no excessive importance to that incident and they rightly pointed to the true race beyond
apparent occurences.
Baldini's victory was too sad ? Maybe to you 'cos for many was a truly happy & deserved one.

The world knowing marathon knows the one winner is Baldini , all the rest can say whatever nonsense they like more , they will just stay ridiculous & bizarre nonsenses and nothing else .

How do you possible know that ? are you Nostradamus ? Are you god ? Nobody knows what possible happened if the invader did not attack De Lima. At that point De Lima did not have visual contact with Baldini. I think it's very possible De Lima react. The fact is the we'll never know and Baldini's victory was too sad because a external factor changed the event.

You don't need to be Nostradamus or even God to follow out marathons in the season and know something about : millions and millions of people do it and a big part of them would'n have bet a penny on Da Lima's victory before the incident looking at how Baldini was making up . About that TV images speak so clear and you can see it by yourself beyond any specific technical explanation by marathon experts commenting live and predicting Baldini was going to win .

Bizarre Idiocies ! ! Everyone who knows a bit of marathon knows so well that Baldini was in plain forcing and he was producing his famous tremendous finish and he was in total contro of Da Lima.
When the incident happened Baldini had already reduced his disavantage to 22 secs with still 7 kms left.
No way, Baldini would have won by miles
those years he was the best marathon runner in the world.
Don't spell out bs if you have no idea of what u r talking about ...!
