How does this compare to the Uniden Bearcat BCD396XT Scanner? I am thinking about buying one of those, but I am still deciding what I want to buy.

These are easy to program if anyone needs help

How do i program it easily and for free??
-
Saving up to buy one right now, can't wait to get it.

@impleasen DO NOT upgrade the firmware.. it will lock out "national 700MHz tactical frequencies"..

My question is, when I order this on line, do I need to order any accessories for this scanner, like rechargeable batteries, a charger, antenna etc etc . . . . Since these scanners aren't in stock at Radio Shack, maybe I should wait till something else comes out since its fairly new. Can an analog station be programmed on a digital scanner?

If you are hearing FM voice on 156.00 MHz, that is all there is. There is no P25 modulation on that frequency. There is probably some digital modulation from 480 MHz to 505 MHz.
