Wolfenstein 3D is a first-person shooter developed by id Software in 1992. Inspired by the adventure game Castle Wolfenstein from 1981, it became a milestone in the game industry. You take the role of William "B.J." Blazkowicz, an American spy, who was imprisoned in the Castle Wolfenstein in Germany during the World War II. Your mission is to fight the guards and to get out of there. This game has been released for several platforms like MS-DOS, Apple Macintosh, Apple IIGS, Acorn Archimedes, SNES, Jaguar, GBA, 3DO and many more.

Due to its use of Nazi symbols such as the Swastika and the Horst Wessel song as theme music, it was confiscated in Germany. Because of this, the German press never called it by name, even though it served as a rule for other games.

  • @noobenstein dumb

  • I had the same feeling back then that I get when I'm playing battlefield 3 today...

  • "It is not okay to murder human beings, unless they are nazis" and so the fps genre is born and accepted.

  • i have never played this game before but i will someday

  • Banned in Germany because those idiots hate being reminded that they were the Nazi's.

Their official line is that "it's because of the nazi images, which are banned in Germany". But the game is all about KILLING Nazis, so it's hardly glorifying Nazism, is it? And yet Germany bans it.

Because they don't want to remember that they used to be Nazi.

  • Halt!

    Ah!

    Woof!

    Rrr...

    Schutzstaffel!

    Mein Leben!
