  • Was this the QVC appearance? If it is, I remember thinking how sad he seemed, maybe Sony forced him to do QVC and he was not pleased, not sure. Anyway, still sounds great and hugs to Neil.

  • Yes Neil sure looks sad on this appearance it's an A.O.L.concert. I'm so glad he's looking so much happier now a days! Look at the latest DVD H.A.N.!!! hugs

  • ...he seems so serious...I want to see him move...love him anyway...

  • I agree with you Jordan, I rather want to see him move when he does this song and with an audience!! He looks so tired...but still love him anyway!

  • This is Neil at the internet AOL concert in Dec.2006.

  • I really feel that this truly great song has been savaged so much by Diamond in concert over the past 2 decades as a throwaway karaoke show tune that maybe he now feels uncomfortable singing it 'straight' as per the studio original. The 'whoa whoa whoas' really ruined this song for me in concert. Not so good, so good, so good anymore.

  • Fantastic!

  • He has never kept it secret that he has struggles with depression. It's hard to sing or perform when you are down like that. There is a BBC show from the early 70's and you can really see it, but it added something to the show, it was one of his best ever. He is a class act, a fabulous songwriter.

  • Still the same great voice!

  • I enjoy ALL the Neil Diamon's songs and if I can rember back in the 1980's my 5th grade Ms Klimit in Peter Copper Ringwood Pasic NJ she was crazy about him! Neil D. Still have it and ALL his songs sound as good then before. He is a all true classic person I have to say! Plus I have ALL his music on CD too!

  • This is a very beautiful song. I love this song and use to sing this to my wife when we were very young. Ca-rol is the first letters of our names combined.

Thanks for posting this song. 5*****

  • Diamond was suffering from depression at the time.

  • ...the many faces of Neil...saw this not long ago and thought the same hugs
