Those ranch roads are fun on a m/c. Also hot sports cars. Luckily I never ran into a cow or drunk.
Thanks for the vid. I just got a DL650.

@RockyDyal What's the longest you've ever rode your sport bike in one day? How about 1 sitting? I've done 4500+ km's in 4 days straight. 2 days were 15 hours and 13ish hours back to back. I probably rode 2.75 hours a few times. I did that on an SV650S. I now own a DL 6 years later after not riding. The SVS wasn't as aggressive as a true sport bike, either.
I sat on a sport bike and couldn't believe how aggressive it was. I want to ask you why you want to do that on a sport bike.

@dghomefry dghomfry: You rode from Tx to Argentina? Did you go down the west coast or east coast? Can this be done on a sport bike? Never mind the comfort.

That is a nice bike but it belongs on the pavement. It is out of it's element in the dirt and I would hate to see it get scratched up.

Nice ride, thanks for the video.

hahahah. That's great! I am from Texas.. sorta.. I grew up all over the USA and usually have a non-regional specific american english accent. Maybe the cold made me more canadian.

using the words "dual sport" in the same sentence as v strom is generous

Depends what you're used to and how far you push the machine. I sold the vstrom.. THOUGHT I got a dual sport when I got my F650GS.. I now bought a DRZ 400. I think calling it a dual sport is an understatement.

Just curious, why'd you sell your dl650? I'm prolly going to get one.

For me it was too top heavy. When I rode from Texas to Argentina (17,000 miles on the trip total), I wanted a bike that I could beast around at slow speeds. The wee just isn't light enough and the center of gravity is too high to be fun at very slow speeds.
That being said, the only times I dropped my F650gs on my trip, I was going backwards. Once you get a bike loaded with luggage, it is difficult to negotiate.
