@SmalltimR I would like to point out that you are using emotion over reason as are most of the people arguing with you. Yes SOME people are poor parrot owners that neglect their birds. No I don't believe they are for everyone. BUT IF YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH AND ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE THE TIME then they can be excellent happy pets. (and if you're wondering I do not own a parrot of any kind, but I am saving for one.)
People that are willing to spend all day/most of the day with their birds will give the birds a proper social environment. If they are not willing to do that, the birds are socially deprived.
Parrots are social animals - my mother had a caique which in nature live in flocks of hundreds. So their yelling is very loud cuz they have to be heard miles away in the thick jungle canopy.
Obviously annoying inside an appartment. Therefore, the bird got yelled at and put away by itself.
@SmalltimR@SmalltimR I own 2 parrots myself. They are very happy animals. They are let out of there cages most of the day. There "Flock" is my family. They watch tv with us.. they are in the kitchen while we make dinner. They are no differnt then owning a dog or a cat. So if you own a dog or a cat its kinda the same thing so please don't show your ignorance. And aftter reading your other posts I have come to the conclusion your a fucking idiot

Perhaps you should investigate the "other side" of the story with regards to parrots in captivity. It's a horror story upon a horror story. Birds that loose their minds or wits, mutilate themselves, undergo constant depressions in efforts to cope with human companionship rather than their own kinds and so on and so forth. It truly is heart wrenching to see and hear people so willfully justify what were doing to these poor animals(birds).
First off, a show of respect for your civility! And you are absolutely right about the emotional attachments I put into this, And that's because I have experience to back the feelings. The truth is... I've seen and worked with enough birds to know without a doubt that they are terribly affected as captives. I mean.. imagine for a moment... born in captivity and stripped of the one thing you're heart desires the most of all in the world.
