Un film (muet) tourné par la compagnie d'Edison lors de l'Exposition universelle de 1900. Le seul film sur le PETOMANE DU MOULIN-ROUGE : JOSEPH PUJOL.
In 1900, Edison had planned to dazzle the world with his latest invention,
moving black and white pictures featuring sound and smell! Edison first recorded a performance of Le Petomane on film. At a strategic moment during the film, a foul smell was to be released... Yhis was never done and the sound of the movie, if there is one, is lost for good...
At last, a French contribution to culture. (Okay, and cheese).

Chances are good that this film is real. Pujol was the highest paid performer at the Moulin Rouge for almost 20 years. A doctor and a couple of nurses were in attendance at every performance because women wore very tight corsets then and some laughed so hard that they passed out. Le Petomane was a european sensation, sort of like the Michael Jackson of his day. Of course he would be filmed for posterity sake. The Kings of England, Spain and Belgium along with the Kaiser caught his act.

Oh, I know Le Petomane was real, but I doubt if this film is. His body language is a little too modern. Also, this film didn't seem to exist until recently; I haven't read anything about a long-lost snippet being found in an archive.

@MrJimddddd It is real, you can try a search on Joseph Pujol. He had amazing control of his sphincter muscles.
