It is. At a point it became so bad that the only one who could get through to her was John who had similiar problems at a time in life. So he was her guardian angel sort of, and when she passed away (Rest in peace) She became his. At least that's how I remember it, he talked about it in an interview ages ago.

Awesome music video! Not only is the melody amazing, but the lyrics for Black Balloon are beautiful. Johnny Rzeznik is a brilliant, talented songwriter. The lyrics he write are fantastically beautiful. The strings in the background gives me goosebumps. They sound so epic in Black Balloon, especially when it comes to the climax of this amazing song, which I love so much. It is an amazing. I cannot help it, but sing-a-long with Johnny. One of the songs, which is on repeat on my iPod.

@tamireaginprinting Yeah, it's about Robby's (ex-)wife heroine addiction I believe. Can't swear on it, but it's definitely about a heroine addiction and the affected other people's life.
