This scene was created in Garry's Mod for my upcoming film and is centered around the 7-Hour War in Half Life 2. It follows two ordinary people, Mike Carter and his wife Miranda as they try to survive the Combine attack! I intend to add a gunship or strider following them in the final scene of this to add more action, but this was just mean to be a simple test. I was created by filming the car and the people on a greenscreen map in Gmod, and then placed on another video of the background coastline. On the Hl2 coast map, I used Catmull-Rom Cinematic Cameras to film the road, which worked out very well and looked very realistic. Then, I joined the two videos together in Adobe After Effects, as well as a VideoCopilot grading effect to make the clip look more film like. Please comment and rate! I would love to hear feedback from everyone, but please keep it appropriate! Hopefully, if all goes well, the final film will be released by spring! Thanks again everyone!

  • They look so casual during the chase lol

  • @GreenDay3213 Haha, that made me laugh. Yeah, there was only so much I could do with Gmod. XD

  • I'm assuming that you're tired of having a wide screen-ish picture for your videos. You're probably using Sony Vegas, so go to your pixel aspect ratio option and change it from .91 to 1.00. That way your pixels will be the right size.

  • @mrzeroten Thank you very much for the tip, but will it still be in widescreen even with the right pixels?

  • @koalalord145 pixel aspect ratio just determines the shape of pixels, setting it to 1.00 ensures that your picture looks like what it's suppose to. If you don't want wide screen resolutions then just use a resolution like 640X480. Pixel aspect ratios are not your resolution. Even though your picture is squished it still has the same amount of pixels. Imagine putting a puzzle together and changing the sizes of each piece, doing this changes how big the puzzle will look when it's done, make sense?

  • @mrzeroten Oh, that's helpful! It makes sense now, thank you very much! :D

    lol

    Still cool though

  • @darkmario2007 you can weld the camera to the car or use a greenscreen

  • Frohman concerned =]

  • @darkmario2007 Thanks! Actually, the jeep and the NPCs were placed on a "greenscreen" map and filmed for the duration of the video's time. Then, on the coast map, I used the Catmull-Cinematic Camera to move around up the road in a car like fashion and filmed that. Finally, with the help of Adobe After Effect's keylight tool, I placed the jeep and NPCs onto the recording of the road from the greenscreen. And after all that, I got this....The End.....I think I did it the hard way.
