The 1620-meter land bridge to the tidal island of Bijiashan (笔架山) is a rare natural wonder. The bridge is totally exposed only at low tides on the first and 15th days of the lunar month.

  • I spent 12 hours there using time-lapse photography on and off to make this 3-minute video. I got there at low tide in the morning. Waited 6 hours for high tide and then another 6 hours for low tide. I have a more healthy respect for video documentarians after this ordeal.

  • This is a great video. So amazing to see how this bridge changes with the tide moving.
