Bloomfield did get busy, but he did it so well. Green didn't play enough notes to ever b busy. He was simpler and satisfying. Bloomfield had more knowledge and had just as much soul as Green. Bloomfield doesn't get old to me and Green does. Mike was a bit bright up in the high register indeed. Bloomfield typically didn't sound quite as repetitive as you were here. Hope you still are playing like this and better i'm sure. God bless.

Sounds great -- you really nailed Bloomberg. Have you written out any tab?
-
duane and mb didn't really write.
all four were in the best jam bands of there time. mb in butterfield blues band, clapton in cream, duane in the allman bros, pg in fleetwood mac. band or style is just personal preference. all four were shit hot as it comes at the time. History remembers ec and then duane better than the other two. but that ain't all she wrote...

Nice civil discussion here. So here I go.... (all answers don't include Jimi because it just ain't fair) From 65 to about 71 when all 4 either flaked out or checked out.. Most influential 1. eric clapton 2. mike bloomfield 3.duane 4. peter green bloomfield got there first but eric got that lp into cranked marshal tone that everyone has chased ever since. wrote the best riffs. 1. ec 2. pg 3. duane and mb-tie ec w/layla, badge, let it rain, pg w/oh well, albatross, b.m. woman duane and mb

@johngoo343 I have no right to say who's better, but from just comparing the sounds and phrasing, Bloomfield has so much more range. From 1965-1968ish he was the best white blues guitarists on the earth

sigh...turn it UP!!!

How do you that chord flourishy turnaround thing at 5:10 i've been dying to do that for ages!

They are both great but i too am more of a Peter Green fan, he was just a very immaculate player but WITH improvisation and climatic's he would still sound as if it were all too easy for him. I wouldn't say Peter played more emotional because they both put their soul into it, just that Peter could make the guitar sing more lyrically i think.
Bloomfield has so many tasty chops but sometimes would sound too over played but i damn well love Bloomfield so that's being a bit harsh.
Very nice playing. Doesn't Bloomfield remind you a lot of Peter Green, and vice versa?

I think Peter was a little more emotional with his playing....sounded a little more West Side than Bloomers who was more Muddy Water's influenced. Green was also a lot more prolific and more consistent. I can listen to Green a lot longer than I can Bloomfield...who I like very much.

Bloomfield could get a little harsh and bright sounding sometimes..played a little more on the higher registers.

@skydog46 hmmmm to compare green and bloomfield? MIke was just at another level green could never get to

@johngoo343 Sounds like you need to listen to a lot more Green. I believe that if you are an honest listener and a blues lover....you'll reconsider your last comment.

Thank you very much for that. I'm not as satisfied with the tone of the video as I was when I heard the sound in the room. I should probably get out from in front of the cabinets. Thanks again for listening!!
