This band was brought together in Connecticut in 1968 and some television airshots were recorded. There was a thriving traditional jazz scene in Connectict in the 1960s. Here we have Capt John Handy as, in blistering form, joined by George Kid Sheik Cola tpt, Louis Nelson tbn, Chester Zardis bs, Sammy Penn dms, Bill Sinclair piano, and Dave Duquette bjo. Kid Sheik's trumpet has recorded slightly off key, but these tracks are great examples of the true N.O. style. These are rare recordings and worth preserving.
