Ty so much! it worked on my 3GS, after all!

I get to the part in SSH when you're supposed to change what's in the boxes for file permission and those boxes stay gray no matter what. So I can't change whatever is in them Right now in the grey it says Group: mobile and Owner: root. Is there something I need to change to allow me to type in the grey boxes so I can move to the next step. I lost all my contacts so I really need help!! Thxs!!

@makYOUsuffer Cool man, glad you got it. Sometimes the simplest things can seem so complicated until ya step back for a min.. it happens.

@ineoki yo its cool now! i found out and boy do i feel like a fucking idiot lmfao. i felt ashamed to even own a ipod after how simple it was to fix my problem.

@makYOUsuffer If your talking about a backup that iTunes generated, I haven't got a clue. I couldn't figure out how to manipulate them. If you used SSH to copy the folders from your iPhone onto the computer, you should be able to just copy that contacts folder back to your iPhone using SSH. You'll have to have the iPhone jailbroken to copy the folders back using SSH, though. Wish I had a better response for ya. ----Does anyone else here know? ----Thanks.

@Imad179 Should be able to. I believe the folders may be named different or in different locations though. Try searching Google if you can't find the right folders.

Can I do this on a Mac?

@oribali1 Yes. Not sure if WinSCP is available for mac, but you can use Cyber Duck (cyberduck.ch). It shouldn't be too much different, same purpose. Sorry for the delay in responding, I've been away for a while... Thanks.
