If you play Microsoft Flight Sim X and do the glider campaign tutorial you do almost exactly the same thing he's doing. It tutorials you through doing the corkscrews to capture the updrafts. It's a tricky campaign but fun. The real thing though, whoah looks challenging and fun. Very intense.
