This is an anime music video from Byousoku 5 Centimeter's 1st story.
Soundtrack that I've used :
-Jin-roh ost : Silence and Wind
-Okami ost : 真サクヤ 前半 (True Sakuya first half)

Anime title : 秒速5センチメートル -- Byousoku 5 Centimeter
Producer : Makoto Shinkai
Studio : CoMix Wave inc., 2007
Release date: 19 july, 2007 (japan)
Announced around december 2007, in the US.
Europe? Hmm What? What's that...

***Suggestions and critics are very welcome***

The 1st movie relates the story of two young lovers, Takaki and Akari, who end up being separated as they inescapably stray from each other. They spend a year sending each other letters, sharing about the seasons and the sweet ephemeral feelings they have to offer. The emphasis is put on Takaki-kun, who decides to go meet Akari after a year, taking the train on a snowy evening... As he gets closer, the snow storm, ever-growing, hinders the train traffic, and seems to be unrelently willing to do whatever it'd take to prevent him from reaching Akari. Despair fills him after the date time is well-exceeded and after the wind, another manifestation of nature, carries away the letter he had written to her, in a sudden gust, a letter that contained the words he would never be able to speak to her... Eventually, as he alights at the station, he is deprived of any hope of meeting with Akari... But then...

The English traduction gives "5 Centimeters per second", it refers to the speed at which a cherry flower petal falls down. The notion of ephemeral beauty it symbolizes is embodied in the anime by its main theme, love, a feeling that shares the same traits.

This work of art is in fact composed of three separate stories, of around 25 minutes each, I've only tinkered with the first movie, as it's the one that has moved me the most.

Sorry for the crappy subtitles, couldn't manage to get a raw ._.

I hope you enjoy it ^^b in spite of the relative cheapness, as movie maker got the best of me eventually for crashing all the time.

  • Yeah Kaliik merci c'est cool que tu aies apprécié :)

  • Shanks! Yupyup so sad i had to rehydrate myself after watching it...But actually, i dunno if they were tears of sadness or visual orgasm. From both combined probably^^. I guess anyone would be touched by Byousoku as we've all gone through similar heart ordeals, at some point, in a way. A gem of beauty and sensitivity :D I mean, both eyes & heart getting pwnt, woohew! ;) and well, ears don't get away too well either, for the soundtrack easily measures to the aforesaid imo :o

  • 秒速5センチミートル。This movie ripped my heart out at first. But later on realized it was actually healing me. I had to leave a girl behind before moving to United States and was unable to say that I loved her. Although I am seeing another person at the moment, memory of the girl from my childhood tormented me unconsciously. I was fortunate enough to watch this movie and realize what was making me feel as if I was trapped in my own body. For me, the last smile Takaki show symbolizes new beginning.

  • the truth is..I hated it when I saw Akari smiling and holding onto her fiance and when tohno and Akari passed each other,,paused,,wait for the train to pass by..and when Tohno thought that Akari was still there...but not....he gave the lonely expression and smile...a lonely smile..it's like he is saying "so,it really is a good bye now..good bye..Akari...''

  • it was really nice, i love this anime

  • This is wonderful... And I love the quality!!!

    Fab... just FAB!!!
