I'm not American but I like this tune so I gave it a go back in 2001..... Oh, and this was actually an English tune written by John Stafford Smith named "The Anacreontic Song"
I think you played the song very well. For the record, I am an American but not of British descent. At the time the song was adopted... the majority of America was British.
True, you were holding your own in the battle for Britain, but the war might have changed its course completely had America not entered. That isn't a statement born of pride, but a fact.
dont forget..an american may have chose a british song for their anthem..but then again..it was an american country that kept the british from becoming ruled by Germany...small price to pay
I do find it ironic that The Americans chose a British song as the anthem, seeing as the lyrics are about The British bombing them in 1812, but, the lyrics go with the song and America had only been established for around 38 years, so there was still a strong link between the two Nations. The chances are his parents were British, seeing as he was 35 at the time. If The American People accept it as a valid anthem, let them have it. We all take inspiration from many things ...
yeah the yanks joined in at the end of the war after the battle of el Alemain.

I did read the description, your comment was so explicit that I didn't quite know what it meant.
And yeah, that is America, we aren't too creative, even our own government was based off of another one.
