i think the idea behind it is just the same as ice block and ice barrier in the frost tree. Its just there as an 'oh crap' button so when you know you have screwed up you have that there to save your skin

you can get a glyph that makes the water elemental permanent ;)

yeah, i've actually tried it out a few times, and it's quite usefull. however, i prefer deep arcane spec, but i still have my dual on frost (20/0/51)

shits good can glyph and spec to only a 1min c/d and can make it last for 1 min so its a nice mage buff also has RANGE FROST NOVA!
