Council Member Inez Dickens today announced her support for Cy Vance today, saying, "Cy Vance understands the importance of community. I have seen him time and again throughout my district over the last several months, and I know that he will continue to listen, and to help the community once he is elected. Dickens, who represents Central Harlem, Morningside Heights, and parts of the Upper West Side and East Harlem, praised Vances commitment to Community-Based Justice and his focus on crime prevention and alternatives to incarceration.
So glad to see Cy Vance will open an uptown DA's office. That will go far to make people feel that the DA is THEIR lawyer!

Ms. Dickens,
Do you find this a better use of your time than debating your opponent in front of your constituents? Do you believe that this election is already in your pocket, and so have little regard for your opponent and your constituents? I find your last minute cancellation insulting and it's the last straw that has cost you my vote.

Harlem, it is time for change!
It is unfortunate that Ms Dickens has time to endorse another candidate, but cannot debate her opponents. We need her to stand up and address her constituents on the issues that are most imperative to them such as affordable housing, gang violence in schools and her vote to extend term limits. Let's hold her accountable, but voting her out!
Please, let us bring change to Harlem, vote Dais!

I believe we need a leader on the streets. Her lack of leadership in preserving the history of this community with her 125 Street rezoning vote but her ability to run with the big guys is astonishing.
I think it is truly time for change, a change that will put the politician back on the street and give Harlem residents the voice they deserve and accurately fight for the tools they need.

Interesting that Ms Dickens found enough time to endorse Cy but did not have enough time to show up for last night's debate with Landon Dais. It's clear that citywide politics is more important to Ms. Dickens than sharing her plans to address the daily hardships families throughout Harlem experience with residents and voters
