Onlive is a new gaming system that offers games-on-demand. It uses cloud computing and super computers to deliver superior technology to the field. It is scheduled for release late 2009.

  • I think this is just going to fail. I mean they promised 1 person 1 computer. If a million people sign up..... they have to have a million computers running GTX 280's? Plus the lag. I mean you have to send your controller command to the console, then to the computer hundreds of miles away, back to your console, then your tv. Idk just something to think about. Good concept but I don't think all the details were thought out.

  • We'll have to see. It'd be genius if it does work though.

  • they will ask money like a monthly fee because how would they otherwise earn money, I mean those big servers cost money to maintain so just like Xbox live i think they will ask a little fee to use the service. games will be I hope the same price, they don't need publishers so they can do it for 50 bucks instead of 65 because you download them which make them cheaper :-)

all games in max high graphic settings with 60 frames per seconds haha awesome dude

  • Yeah hopefully the online service shouldn't exceed $100 dollars a year. But with the games cheaper and all it'll make up for it :)

  • this looks kewl need money though lol

  • Haha yeah it'll be interesting sure enough...

  • it now has free service :D but u need to pay for games still

  • its free for 12 months only on labor day weekend hurry!

  • @levi094 the more money the make the more computers they buy and is listed on a server. Its not 1 computer though thats playing the games its more a lot more if it was played on a computer thats why no one witnessed a crash yet?

  • so its kind of like renting hardware?? thats my only thing that bugs me, i enjoy building & having my own hardware

  • cloud gaming is the future FCC is working on a standard for net connection in the US by mid to end of 2010 average home will have 2-5mb connection this will make on-live work

  • Would it had any exclusive titles available at launch because if it doesn't, I don't see any interest in buying this.

  • Agreed

  • Steam ftw
