In 1985, I (Robert Decker) and Mark Freed sent Paul McCartney this musical 'Love' collage in an audio cassette format (excluding "Real Love") in the hopes that it would catch his attention, along with a business proposal that our company (Star Licks Productions) was pitching him. He passed on the proposal but did comment on the collage saying, "I was never aware of the extraordinary amount of songs we sang with the word 'love' in them."

I edited this audio track by means of a grease pencil/razorblade on an editing block in chronological order of U.K. C.D. release. "Here Today" and "All Those Years Ago" were added, as they were tribute songs to John Lennon, and "Woman" seemed to be a great setup for Paul McCartney's "The End" to conclude the compilation.

If I've mixed up the order or have possibly missed a song or two, I so apologize.

I dedicate this to my 'loving' wife of 25 years on this 2011 Valentine's Day.

I Love You, Gail...

  • I LOVE this. And to think you did this in the days before Final Cut! You must have been thrilled to receive a reply from Sir Paul. When I was 12, I saw the first concert of the Beatles at Carneigi Hall. And a few years later at Shea Stadium. They are without doubt the highlights of my life.

  • SWEET! Congratulations to both of you. L&P

  • WOW! Exceptional. Like nothing I've ever heard! More please.
