Testing the restored Mazda 787B (Mine Proving Ground)／「787B テスト走行」

1991年のルマン優勝車である「マツダ787B」が20年ぶりに修復整備され、6月11日（土）から始まるルマン24時間レースの開始前にデモンストレーション走行され­ます。
それに備え、往年のマツダ契約ドライバーである片山義美、従野孝司、寺田陽次郎も立会いのもとマツダの美祢自動車試験場にて行われたテスト走行のもようです。
The Mazda 787B, the winning car at the 1991 Le Mans race, has been restored for the first time in 20 years, and will be part of a demonstration to be held before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to start from June 11 (Sat). In preparation for this event, a test run was held at Mazda's Mine Proving Ground, attended by past Mazda racing drivers Yoshimi Katayama, Takashi Yorino and Yojiro Terada.

I like the sound of the gearbox if they going back in gear it's like a Zoidberg (Futurama) sound.

@downset I may have misunderstood. I agree and I don't think this is the case. I think its being done just because they can/wanted too. It would have no chance if competition with the R18, or the 908. I am just happy to see it on the track singing its beautiful song. In my opinion the diesel Le Mans of today don't have near as good a soundtrack them the R26B does :-).

@JDM613 my point is reviving a 20 year old race car in hopes to compete with things like Audi's R18 or Peugeot's 908 is pointless
