In september 2008 I travelled by train from Vienna to Pyongyang. 2008-09-20: By train inside North Korea, somewhere near Kilchu on the eastcoast mainline from Tumangan via Kimchaek - Hamhung - Kovon to Pyongyang.

Utti your blog can be featured as a good journey book. I read it from time to time again and I am still not bored. Two reasons: I still rmember f* communism in my country and I am railways fan as well. Fantastic material!

Well, getting to North Korea is indeed nothing special. But entering North Korea from Russia via the border-point Tumangan is since the mid-90ies not officially allowed for tourists, we likely were since then the 1st tourists using this route into North Korea. Usually tourits can only arrive by plane or by train from China via Sinuiju.
