Live recording at the Royal Academy of the Arts, de San Fernando, Madrid, Spain.The critic of "El Mundo",17/06/08 wrote: "En solemne acto se ha entregado el Premio Tomás Luís de Victoria al gran compositor brasileño Marlos Nobre. La justicia de la distinción quedó luego patente cuando se escuchó el "Canto a Garcia Lorca". Nobre afirma su personalidad de artista creador, completamente libre, dueño de la técnica, que no le tiene miedo a nada, ni siquiera a la tonalidad".
The critic of EL PAÍS (17/06/06) said: "El discurso de Nobre se movió en la órbita de la fascinación, desde la musicalidad de la palabra aplicada a unos contenidos de gran interés en el campo reflexivo. Y al final la música resultó deslumbrante".

"O Canto Multiplicado"
Sobre teu corpo,que há muitos anos
se vem transfundindo em cravos
de rubra cor espanhola,
aqui estou para depositar
Vergonha e Lágrimas.
Vergonha de há tanto tempo viveres
- se Morte é Vida -
sob chão onde esporas tinem
e calcam a mais fina grama
e o pensamento mais fino
de Amor, de Justiça e Paz.
Lágrimas de noturno orvalho,
não de mágoa desiludida.
Lágrimas que tão só destilam
desejo, e ânsia e certeza
de que o dia amanhecerá.
AMANHECERÁ!

The Multiplied Chant.
Over your body, which for many years
has been transmuting itself into carnations of a crimson Spanish colour.
Here I am to deposit shame and tears.
Shame that for such a long time,
you should live -if death be life -
under the earth where spors tingle
and tread over the finest grass
and the finest thought
of love, of justice and peace.
Tears of nightly dew,
not of disenchanted woes,
tears that only distill
wish and yearning and certainty
that the day will dawn.
WILL DAWN.

Based in o beautiful poem of Carlos Drummond de Andrade, this work is moving, strong and drammatic, a powerfull comentary to the poem which is concern with the murder of Garcia Lorca. The music has a great lyric and dramatic quality, and the last bars constained the best vocal music I had heard in the last years. It is contemporary music but at the same time it is deep, going directly to our heart.
