@celestialpathway Maybe not, but the difference between Rahsaan and many other major singers that we love is that he does it on camera or even sings about it in his songs. Chaka Khan smokes and so does Whtney Houston, Christina Aguilera. Not to mention the LARGE number of artists who smoke varied substances. It is his choice and it does make me worry that he may not have that voice well into the future. But it's his voice not mine.

Rahsaan Patterson is the toughest singer in the world. Absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, and is the most underrated. He's my absolute favorite singer! Love 'em.

Stef..you are a great interviewer..been following you for a minute...representing Philly. Be encouraged and keep it going. Keep informing the music community. It's the only way we can get back to aural intelligence in music. Rahsaan is one of the great keepers of the flame.

Is it still considered Billie Holiday Cool to smoke in 2009?
Or is he doing it because he thinks it is the "opposite of everyone else"?

This was actually filmed in 2006, but smoking is an adult's choice. Not a healthy one for vocalists, but still his choice, regardless of his reasons or intentions. Being judgmental isn't very cool or sexy either.
