Yeah, his body was still radioactive enough to cause damage to other living creatures. When they say that something is "hot" it is not a tangible heat cooling radioactive material would not do much till you got near absolute zero.
-
"in a lead coffin". indeed! why? had they feared that its radiation could infect anyone?
but i get the feeling a cure exists. maybe a stuff capable to get a mega-cold energy....in order to face the hot effect of polonium on humans organism.
-
@Aniva66 There are treatments for exposure to radiation but humans can not get a lot of radiative material inside them without dying. Unlike many poisons polonium basically breaks down your entore system and is used in medical treatments to do just that, in very small doses.The spy who was poisoned took several weeks to die, painfully, and was buried in a lead coffin.

@altosax1st Polonium-210, you mean?

Which is the antidote to polonium? which stuff would he have needed in order to safe his life? does it exist an antidote? i get the feeling it exists.
In Area 51 there are UFOs...so ,don't u believe that there is an antidote to/against polonium? i believe

The Wikileaks guy had better hope he never follows through on releasing any Russian documents...they have no sense of humor about this kind of thing.

Yeah, for the record it was Polonium-210 that was used, but that doesn't make a good song I guess.
A few years ago, a former Russian spy who ticked off then-president of Russia Vladimir Putin died in Britain under suspicious circumstances. They found out that he was poisoned with Polonium 209 by a Russian national who fled back to Russia. Russia refused to hand him over to the Brits and that really strained relations btw the two countries. The beginning part references the unstable nature of Russian politics and that Putin's handpicked successor Medvedev choose Putin to be his Prime minister.
