http://www.ruthhoganpoulsen.com Ruth Hogan Poulsen uses an Equicizer to help a student learn the elastic contact needed with the horses mouth while giving rein and leg aids. The constant following of the elbows and shoulders is critical when communicating with your horse through the reins. Anything less than total relaxation and elasticity in your arms and hands would be like riding your horse with the emergency break on! For more information and video, visit my site at

  • I think its great that my students who are just beginning to learn to understand how to influence a horse can practice their timing and coordination without bothering their own horse!

  • LOL I guess I could use my bitless bridle. And the good thing is I don't need a helmet.

  • Thank you so much for the video demonstration!

  • Awesome Miss Poulsen! The bungie chord used as or with reins works well for the Equicizer. I use it for racing training for jockeys as well! Cool!

  • working on these riding concepts on the ground HAS to spare the horse. What a great tool!
