  • @MsAhhotep there are also lots of turkish proverbs glorifying being brunette. one of them is roughly translated as "blondes have the reputation but brunettes are the real flaviour".

  • @MsAhhotep ... and can not likely have a future with lots of money. The folk singer is brunette and he is promoting himself like "your gorgeous eyes are also black, coffee (which only rich people could drink at that time) is also black like me". (and again, black here means brunette). it is totally nothing against black people, it is not even about them. what's more, it is against racism, it glorifies being brunette by lots of arguments.

  • @MsAhhotep the song is based on an old folk song. here black means just brunette not colored or totally black. turks are also mostly brunettes, too. this song was first sung in times when brunette skin was a sign of poor people generally working on fields or plantations like farmers and white skin meant richness and so as being fat. so the girl that the song is dedicated to, wants to get married with or be involved to someone rich. so, she does not like the folk singer that is brunette and ...
