  • US ARMY EOD originated from bomb techs doing what they did in Britain during World War II. The only differences is... it's the NCO that is at the forefront of the mission.

  • I dimly remember this series when I was young, thanks for the upload, way better than I recalled too.

I like the way any myths about an elite, well prepared group dealing with UXB's, is not pandered to.

They learnt on the job, to an expected threat.

They did however in the course of the war become a brave and elite group, forging the way for today's bomb disposal experts.

Still dangerous with all the technology today, as we see in Afghanistan.

  • Absolutely brilliant mate - thanks for uploading. Like others here I watched it as a kid and although I loved it back then I am surprised to find how well written the scripts are on looking back - for example in the first episode, immediately after being given command of the section the air raid sirens go off and he looks to the sky with an ashen face that says it all. Great stuff!

  • @videomonkey2009 I think the drama programmes made in the 1970's were really better written and of higher quality. Seems to me that the BBC put very little effort into producing memorable drama today compared to some of the gems they produced years ago.
