Spintopia is an interactive augmented reality toy aimed at children wanting to create dynamic 3D spirograph-inspired art. The program allows the player to define the path the 3D "pen" will travel along, and control and modify various attributes of the dynamic 3D drawing in real time.
This toy was developed by Iulian Radu (HCC PhD) and Michael Hewner (HCC PhD) in the Qualcomm Augmented Reality Game Studio at Georgia Tech (http://www.argamestudio.org). This Qualcomm-funded research studio is a collaborative effort between the Augmented Environments Lab at Georgia Tech, and the Interactive Design and Game Development program at Savannah College of Art and Design. The Studio is led by Blair MacIntyre (GT) and Tony Tseng.
This game was built for Android phones, using Unity3D and the Qualcomm AR SDK plugin (https://ar.qualcomm.com/qdevnet/sdk).
