I was delighted to have met and to have talked to Bill in the 1990s. A lovely man whose enthusiasm for Laurel and Hardy was endless. It was he who put Ulverston on the map as Stan Laurel's birthplace. A true "Son Of The Desert".Bill Cubin - sadly missed but not forgotten.
He gave me more laughs then I can remember. Bill & Happy Harry kidnapped me once from Widnes and drove me to Ulverston for a wonderful visit, with non stop laughs.
