  • GNB: A LEGEND. Just like Saint Thyagarajar- an avatar, there are a few

in recent times- 20th-Century- M.S and G.N.B may be classified as such.

Destiny nay providence brings their talent together in this masterpiece

movie -for which we owe a great deal to SRI T. SADASIVAM.Thanks to

    vintageaudio54 and You Tube.

  • 2 minutes to showcase - talent, raga, feeling. And all superbly done. Now you have 2 months to make a song and no one can even come close.

  • Thanks Mr Abhiram Bode.

In fact GNB used to sing 2 or 3 songs with raga elaborately in the 1940s, especially Pakkala Nilapadi. He has also sung Kharahara priya as RTP in both Perambur Sangitha Sabha and Krishna Gana Sabha. Unfortunately, the recordings of these concerts are not available .

  • The 'mayannngina' at 1:41 is surreal... don't think anyone else can sing that.

  • GREAT VOICE AND TRADITION

  • Brighas are literally peppered all over the place, small and long. And with unbelievable ease and weight.

Record any GNB, slow it down to 50% or 30% and you'll see the intricate detailing and fine modulations and gamakas in the brighas which you'd otherwise miss at high speed.

His voice just loves to go fast and is literally lives in the medium-superfast regime.

His ability to bring out the colours and dimensions of a raga is sheer genius.

  • This is true raga conceptualization at its best... In mere few minutes able to deliver a raga that others would struggle for hours...What a genius!!!

  • MY GOD....look at the way he stand still and sings those brigas from 40 secs to 55. unbelieveable! what a legend...effortless...brilliant.

  • Great soul - very inspiring. Such people give more to art than they have taken from it.

  • what kambodhi . too good . lots of bhrigas. typical gnb. thanks vintageaudio54
