The footage of American Indian chiefs riding away at the end suggests (to me) a devastating closed-circuit between the genocide and cultural oppression of indigenous peoples that founds colonial America, and the idea that flight to social-democratic Sweden is a viable path of escape....
Great decision to use archival/film representations (primarily) of the American West for this video. Makes me appreciate the way Holy Sons songs are a personal but fundamental reckoning with the banal horror of the United States. "Sweden" is just a placeholder, a somewhere-not-here, that offers hope of another way of being in a place and in a culture.
