I remember how Days used to reshoot the last scene from the previous episode to begin the new episode. Example: If you watch the scene in "possession 110" where Curtis says "I'm back!!" it's totally different than when he walks up in this one. Classic.

I remember getting so pissed when this was first on, watching Marlena fight so hard to resist and everytime she turned around the devil was in control again...

I think the reason that it ended the way it did was to show us how easy it really was to get rid of the devil. They were making it harder than it was. John needed to have enough belief to get rid of the devil and Gabe showed him how to do it. It showed us how evil the devil really could be. It was quite a story. I really believe it made a lot of non believers believe.
