Here's a new Rude Corps track I made with Renoise - it's called "Imperfect (But Alive And Trying)" and it will be featuring on my next album "Designs of Anarchy and Community".
The song itself is about DIY culture and social struggle, so it's fairly appropriate to use it as an example of what sort of thing can be done by an amateur musician with basic gear. Renoise itself is obviously a fantastic tool for the price, and of course, the demo version isn't really crippled by any restrictions so people should definitely give it a go. Along with the software, the track is made up of entirely free VST instruments and one-hit drum samples. The bass is a sine wave .rns instrument that came with a demo track on Renoise 1.2 I think. As you can see, there's no other external effects used - purely Renoise's native FX plug-ins.
You can download a free MP3 of a slightly earlier version of the track that doesn't have the strings at the end here...
