From Reid's 2003 concert video "One April Night," here is the master minstrel playing one his best-known songs on his Chrysalis guitar (before he started using Fishman Aura with it) http://www.woodpecker.com
I first learned of Reid when he performed at a guitar shop in Long Beach, CA around 1988. I am a big fan.
His guitar playing was just about fully developed then, but his vocals have become even better over the years. His performance of "Cryin' Shame" on this video has more depth than his earlier, audio-only recording of it.
this guy is one of the best...if you ever get the chance to see him live don't pass it up...I seen him a few yrs ago at a local church...on a friday night.....one of the most awesome shows I ever seen....its always bettter when your there live than seeing it on a computer screen....your missing out if you dont go and participate in artists' shows....and you go home with much inspiration if you do!..........always a no brainer to me...go see them live if you can :)
I can't believe I actually corresponded with this guy over e-mail! I knew he was dang good when I e-mailed him, but these videos floor me. It's an honor I'll always remember to have communicated with him.
Saw him twice in ojai CA a small theater with maybe 30 or 40 people there when you coming back?
