This is a in-progress version of Blind Boy Fuller's Weeping Willow Blues. There are various versions of this - Bert Jansch, Stefan Grossman, Ralph McTell to name but a few. I've tried to go back to original. This is one of my favourite blues songs, mainly due to its rather unusually haunting tune and structure. I find it quite hard to sing and play at the same time, and I hope you like it. You'll notice Boris joins in during the first verse - he's not a bulldog but he's just as efficient.

  • great, great stuff - There is a singer songwriter ! saw recently in Dublin playing with Christy Moore. His name is Jim Page, I'm not sure if you are aware of his work (see I'd Rather Be Dancing (Rachel's Song) on youtube) but I think you'ld life him.

    Ride on ........

  • @AikiSys Thanks very much - I'll check out Jim Page. I was recently watching a few video of Christy playing with Declan Sinnott and I really like what I hear.

  • @MrRagAndBoneMan1 Cheers :o)

  • I simply love this.

Saw Wizz Jones over the weekend and heard it then too. Now I've caught this beautiful version. The song is sitting with me these days, I suppose. Thank you, so much.

  • @Ursamare Thanks very much - it's been a long time since I've seen Wizz Jones playing - I'm jealous - one of my favourite players.

    All the best

  • @2xVitamR Thanks very much, Michael. I've been meaning to do this for ages, but other versions kept on creeping in. This is the first time I've managed to do it without Stefan Grossman's influence slipping in. Not that there's anything wrong with his version - au contraire ! Cheers and all the best, MIchael

  • @cjwaywell Cheers, Chris :o)

  • @JesseMathews Thanks very much, Jesse. I didn't realise Wizz Jones had done this one - I'll have to listen out. Great player, Mr Wizz :o)

  • great guitarplaying, John.

    cheers

    Michael
