I know that Tammy loved George with all her heart --she just couldn't handle his erratic behaviour when he was drinking ---and ---they would have been together I believe If George Richey hadn't came on the scene and broken everything apart --I know she stayed married to Richie but he abused her too .

I love George but I worship Tammy !

@owsleyforkmusic IMHO, Karen Carpenter and Janice Joplin are the only two who sound good when their voice cracks.

I still like John Prine and Iris McDerott's cover of this song better but what a pleasure it was hearing the original. I didn't even know that it was a Jones song originally until just now. I always thought it was an original John Prine song.

Tammy didn't love George?news to me...Can't believe he for got his brand new wifes name...She was a little scared at the beginning of the song...Their daughter Georgette is a babe and has a great voice...check her out on "I just don't give a damn" song

Tammy wynette is the only singer that when their voice cracks or somethin it sounds good.
When George and Tammy sang on the radio, you didn't have to ask someone who that was singing, by dang you knew! Sorry to say, it ain't like that today!

That really does take you back to a different time. I was only about 5 years old when this aired on TV, but I remember my grandfather watching this, Porter Wagoner, and listening to the country music of that time. This brings back good memories. Miss you Papa.
Thanks for posting.
