Why would a Reagan Democrat-they don't exist anymore. If they did, they would support folks like Chris Christie or John Huntsman. Reagan Democrats were white working class voters in the Rust Belt states who opposed school busing, affirmative action, civil rights for women/minorities. They believed that the government was taking "their country" away and giving it to blacks, the poor, other minorities, and people on the left-hand side of the culture war.

It is interesting that Santorum talks about Reaganism and appealing to Reagan Democrats-also known as white blue collar workers who were racially and cultural opposed to the government policies aimed at boosting economic equality and social standards for blacks, the poor, women, and minorities (bigots). Reagan signed into law the Earned Income Tax credit which was wealth distribution to help low income people. Reagan also bailed out Chrysler in the 80's. Santorum is clueless.
