ryan is originally from dunkirk, indiana...used to jam with a band from the Portland, Geneva IN area called D.E.M. Good band, heavy as shit.(look up myrustmusic on myspace) Had Century Media Records in NY scouting them before ryan jumped ship to join SOiL from Chicago. While playing clubs in Chicagoland area SOiL was introduced to producer/engineer Johnny K through Disturbed and recorded a 3 song E.P. which contained the track Halo...the rest is history
