  • They are all professional actors. I'm not. The only time I had met them was at the shooting and at the series completion party. Oh, one thing I did hear through the grapevine was that the guy who played the son of the family that was sponsoring me (in the series) was working in a gay joint in Tokyo. Well, he was kind of excessively friendly with me during the taking, to come to think of it. LOL

You take care now and best of luck in your Japanese language study.

  • Thanks for info about the group Nick, I'll check it out. BTW, I downloaded the whole series of Learn Japanese from the internet, it's still floating around. I think it's very well done for the beginners. Good job, guys. Are you still in touch with other members of the cast? That's what I thought would be cool, some website saying kinda "Where are they now" or something. Just out of curiosity ;o))

  • I see. For some reason I reckoned you were a member of Tatopani. LOL

Andy's the guy playing the alto. I put my name on this thread thinking you were him or one of the other members.

Tatopani had disintegrated I think. You can google Andy Bevan and go to his site, email him from there if you'd like.

So you watched the Yan-san series, huh? Wow, that was long ago;they made me put brown makeup FYI...heh heh

Out of curiosity, how did you get hold of the clips?

Take care and bye for now. ;))

  • Well, I don"t play anything, but I enjoy listening to good music. I used to go to some jazz clubs in Prague a few years back, it's really good scene there I reckon. I just study a bit of japanese and watching the TV series, that's why your name sprung at ma ;o)) BTW, my girlfriend used to live in Yokohama, but it's a few yeas back, and she preferes salsa (sumimasen). But maybe if we go to Japan we see you in action. Who knows...

  • I see. Well anyway, I live in Yokohama and I play in a band called Kalifonico of which Andy's a member. Sorry but we don't have any clips yet since we've just started out. My wife Ake, who's the keyboardist in Kalifonico, and my daughter Alina have their own band and I've uploaded a slide show of their gig here.

Just click on my user name and you'll see it.

Hope to hear from you soon.

PS What do you play BTW?

  • No, sorry, I'm not Andy. Do you live in Tokyo now, do you play in the group? What is it called? Can I download sample somewhere?? Cheers.

  • Someone had started a website but it didn't last...heh heh...BTW, are you Andy?

If not, ask him about me. We play together sometimes (I play bossa guitar). Cheers.

  • Do you have some kind of fan website or somethin'? Would be nice to know what you're up to... I'm hooked on Learn Japanese right now ;o)))

  • Yup it is me.... heh heh ;P

  • Oi Nick, is that you, Yan-san ???
