Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, is a very contagious respiratory disease that can be severe and last for months. To help slow the spread of this serious disease, California signed into law AB 354 requiring all 7th through 12th grade students to receive a pertussis vaccine booster called Tdap.
The California Medical Association (CMA) and the CMA Foundation produced this TV public service spot to inform parents and their adolescent children about this new vaccination requirement for entering school.
