  • Great work! Keep it up.I'm at the same stage on my 260z and I have some questions about the work you did in this video which was FANTASTIC! by the way.

1- Exactly what headlight recovery kit did you use and where did you buy it?

2- Did you use a bench style buffing wheel to buff the stainless trim?

3- Did you use the headlight recovery kit to buff the stainless trim?

    Thanks.

    Keep the videos coming!

  • @harlest71 Hey...they used Maguires Headlight Restoration Kit, available from any local auto store, and they picked up a $20 bench buffer from Harbor Freight and Tools (they have online store). For the stainless trim, they hit it with a 200 grit sandpaper and then a 1200 grit sandpaper, and followed it up with the same buffing wheel!! Glad you're enjoying the vids.

  • What stresses me out about a long project like this, and getting something so completely disassembled as you guys have, is remembering how to put it all back together again. I suppose it's largely based on skill, and a lot of "sense" that I might not have due to my lack of experience. I can't fabricate new parts or do metal working or a lot of what you all are doing here, but still, even though you guys know what you're doing, I wonder if there's any "project anxiety" like I'm talking about.

  • @heymisterderp At first, it totally stressed me (Mom) out!!!! But as time is going on, and I'm seeing how slow and careful they are, I'm feeling pretty good about it. What the viewers dont see is the still camera that's taking pictures of the old parts before they come off, as they come off, and after they're cleaned. Then they're labelled and stored away. Dad has this uncanny mechanical accumen and the boy is very analytical, so the two of them are great problem solvers. Thx for watching!

  • PLEASE tell me you guys are gonna have it done for the Zcar Nationals at Motorsport at the end of April..... I'll do my damndest to finish mine as well and we'll meet ya there. You have my email on page 6 of the DZ-Start manual, feel free to write me anytime. Let us know if you're going. If I can't finish my 260Z by then, We'll just take the 70' 240Z down. it's only 1200 miles away.. HAHAHA. By the way, the wife says "I totally feel for her, I know the situation all too well" she loves noise!!

  • @DatsunDave07 *laughs* They're TRYING, but they don't want to rush and make mistakes. They go to the show every year, so even if the car isn't ready, they'll definitely be there.

  • Just watched all the videos up to now, great stuff I love the idea of getting something thats a wreck and taking the time to freshen up everything special the engine that looked so freking clean when it was showed off in one of the other videos, great stuff again cant wait till the next one.

  • Dope ass familly u got exspecailly ur mom. Rock on. Juz finish ur vids keep up ya awesome wrk.

  • watched the whole thing already! great vlog! when is a new one coming up?

  • WHENS THE NEXT ONE O.O

  • Ditto!! I just sat through all 31 episodes (minus the first one - I couldn't find that one) and I loved the work you all are doing! I'm doing a restoration on a '66 GTO and you have just given me a ton of inspiration.

  • Well I just finished watching what appears to be 31 videos on your project and I must say you two look like ya'll are havinga blast with this project. I own a body shop and what I think is so great about this project is that the two of you and of course your mom being your DOP(director of photography) have shown so many people that you don't have to have a lavish shop or years of experience to do something like this...just a lot time and desire! Looks great keep it up.

  • I need more vids guys get back to work
