The UK Government are planning to jail people for viewing certain consensual "adult" images they don't agree with and the problem is that its also liable to catch out people who import horror and exploitation DVDs, depending on their content.

  • i have "august underground mordum" on my PC, am i at risk? should i get rid of it?

  • @Seanh2k11 not seen it to comment, I wouldn't worry too much unless the content seems pornographic.

  • Your country sounds like it has the same assholes that my country, the USA has.

  • @TheLonelyImmortal at least in the USA you have a constitutional right to freedom of speech, we have no such right. Here its freedom of speech unless it doesn't contravene any of the following.... and the government is forever introducing new laws to curb anything and everything they don't agree with.

I'm just waiting till they turn on violent films again, been a while since they had a "purge" as it were.

  • WTF???? So I could had been done in for owning Salo??? And that was sexual violence. I know a 75 year old who bought that film Are they going to arresthim as well???

  • @flatcapman if its got a BBFC certificate you'll be fine, as the sexual violence is considered justified by context.

However, if you were to extract clips from that film, or import an unclassified film, then you might run into trouble.

  • This government is just seeking further and further to find excuses to turn this country into a police state, i mean practically everyone has seen some form of porn, even if just out of curiosity, that could now be classified as 'extreme'..think about it..this government has made the police less accountable and more detached and powerful..now it isn't a massive step to think that if they want to imprison those who cause them serious embarrassment etc..they can just look at your hard drive etc..

  • People should have the right to watch what thay want

  • @DarkAngel182 The Federal Communications Commission forbids nudity and cursing on TV, radio, and also video games in a way. 2girls1cup is ILLEGAL. If they get hold of the Internet, there will be no more freedom of speech/art in the US, except on paper. Christians have been trying to take away everyone's rights except their own, since the beginning. Banning books, former "sodomy laws", DADT, anti-gay legislation, and on and on. Censorship is just one part of their culture of oppression.

  • I would vote you as an MP. Simply because you make more sense than MPs do and you have more logic than they do :)

We all despise that law and I want it abolished too
