a real trebuchet has a pin the hold it down whihc breaks/is removed then it fires. Then the part of the arm that whips fast to launch the projectile is on the ground and doesn't whip until the arm is already up high. not to mention the firing arm and the arm that holds on the weights are the same thing

has a weight
supported on legs
the projectile is shot by the momentum of the wieght

check out my second treb, it's the most powerful one I could make, but there is plenty of room for improvement.
