  • Niepce was the first one who invented photography before Daguerre.

  • @MarwickJK the commentator is referring to the process being the first publicly announced. Niepce did indeed make images prior to the Daguerreotype but it was not made public. Daguerre's process set up the industry of photography all over the globe, paving the way for future photographic processes.
