Starting an Intravenous (IV) Infusion of Remicade

I am a seventeen-year-old girl with Crohn's disease. I was diagnosed almost three years ago, and was put on Remicade as a last resort. I have improved greatly; beyond belief, really.

Here is me getting hooked to an IV for my Remicade infusion. I now get it at two-month intervals.

@brokok17 the only part that hurt was the IV itself, the medicine didn't hurt. :) and it is very expensive, about $4000 a treatment, i think, but i have insurance so the co-pay was more like $40 each time.

Did they do a TB skin test or chest xray before giving you the remicade? Thanks for posting the video and I hope you're doing well.

@leviathan85 i get a TB skin test once a year, as the medicine pretty much kills my immune system. i've also gotten a couple chest xrays. however, i didn't get either done every treatment, just periodically.

my son is 11 1/2 years-old who has Crohn's....he was diagnosed on January 27, 2009 @ the age of 10...he was only 90 pounds. He's a fighter....Keep up the positive attitude sweetie..here comes a hug from a mom in Florida!
