My first million point game of Donkey Kong (Arcade) - 1,037,700 kill screen

Done on Sept 13, 2009 from 4-6:30pm on an original Donkey Kong TKG4-14 board at my home in New York, NY. I had a flight to catch at 8:20pm and even contemplated ending the game early! I missed the world record held by Billy Mitchell by 12,500 points. The score is also 11,400 points shy of Steve Wiebe's official high score. In this video you will see:

the last 8 minutes of my game:
- sacrificing my spare life on the last barrel board
- killscreen
and 2 minutes of verifications:
- "Nintendo of America" screen
- starting a new game to show 3 man settings
- reboot of the machine to show no unoriginal chips are installed

what stops a player from standing still and jumping over barrels in the same spot for six hours to farm points?

@wolfumz on the top right corner of the screen there is a bonus timer which ticks down by 100 points every second. when that timer reaches 0 you have about 4 seconds to clear the board. if you don't finish the board by then, you die.

Hank is awesome at Donkey Kong, for someone to say he's a cheat is foolish, I personally watched him playing it at richie knucklez arcade in new jersey and it blew my mind, absolutely incredible

@AlMcGlothlen Thanks for that. My last world record was done in public on the Funspot machine and I won the Kong Off in front of 200+ people, yet people still call me a cheat. Unfortunately, there will always be haters.

So, how do you get DK points on the Rivet Board? Do you just jump near him or do you mess around with the joystick AND jump?

@TheDARKYOSHI64 You can either stand really close to DK (literally one pixel away) and just jump. Or the safer way is to stay within the "cage" (vertical bars) near DK and jump straight up and hit left or right at the peak of the jump.

Anyone who thinks this guy is a cheater just go to Twin Galaxies, or Wiki, or any other site that shows who holds the world record for Donkey Kong. Nice job Hank.
