I think the video says it all. Its recorded in an ACOUSTICALY DRY room.
Any REVERB is made from recital box. Any additional note or lingering you hear is obviously the box. Very simple.

I'm pretty sure it's a reverb effect. But who cares that much about reverb to have one hooked to their guitar?

Also please explain the purpose of the little hook you put on the 3rd string.

That's quite likely. But please show us, by turning it on AND off so one can hear exactly WHAT it adds. Also a little technical explanation please. Does it use batteries? Does it have a speaker inside?

Can't tell what is does. What were they thinking? without an A/B comparison with/without, it's impossible to tell if it does ANYTHING at all.
