@joefederico totally agree, class up and down the field, dont see many fields like that anymore. Look at this years Classic for instance, Z, QR , Blame and Looking at Lucky were the only contenders with strong resumes.

im the biggest alysheba fan their is, but lots of times the track is really slow or playing super fast, so times can be deceiving...
BTW when alysheba did that, they werent fsat tracks at all, which made those times all the more impressive......
btw alsheba had such heart,,he hated off tracks and had every reason to throw in a clinker here in the dark and mud...
but he just balls out says i am not getting beat!!!!

Look at the horses in that field. Top quality almost from 1st to last. With that track condition you can throw the final time out the window. If it is any indicator, Waquot was a speedster and loved an off-track yet still got nailed by the top 2 finishers. The time of this race is not indicative of the quality of this field. Some very good horses here.

Rest in peace, Alysheba. He was euthanized on March 27, 2009, at the age of 25 following a fall in his stall.

Alysheba ran 10 furlongs under 2:00 three times as a four-year-old. Curlin could NEVER do that.
